The Story Behind childmindingpaperwork.com
Hello....
I'm Sam Heaven. Before teaching and childminding, I spent years in retail management, learning how to lead teams, stay organised and keep a busy environment running smoothly — skills that quietly shaped everything I’ve done since.
I later moved into primary school teaching, and eventually into childminding, where I found the place my heart felt most at home. I still miss it deeply. I’m lucky, though - I met some forever families along the way, and they continue to mean the absolute world to me.

Away from work, I live in Greater Manchester with my husband, our son, and our cheeky cockapoo who thinks he runs the house. I love my friends and family fiercely — they’re the heart of everything I do. I’m happiest when I’m being creative, exploring the West Highlands of Scotland, or renovating our home bit by bit.
Everything I create is rooted in real life — the busy, rewarding, sometimes chaotic reality of running a childminding setting — and my goal is always to make your days smoother, clearer and a little more joyful.
As my experience grew, I started supporting other childminders, building a Facebook Community that now has over 10,000 members. When I couldn’t find the kind of paperwork I wanted for my own setting - clear, practical, calm, and genuinely helpful - I began creating it myself. That small beginning grew into a full childminding paperwork platform, offering digital downloads that childminders can use instantly and, where needed, edit to suit their own routines.
From there came The Hub, a deeper learning and support space. It’s temporarily paused whilst I rebuild and expand the paperwork side and juggle a few things, including the addition of hard‑copy, tangible paperwork for those who prefer something physical in their hands.
I’ve brought some of the support pages over from the Hub’s website so everything is easy to access in one place. It means you can find the guidance you need quickly, without hopping between platforms.

Even though I’m no longer a childminder and now balance my work with a part‑time job, my commitment to this profession hasn’t faded. I’m still deeply involved in the Friendly Childminders Facebook group, staying up‑to‑date with sector changes, new guidance, and best practice so I remain well‑informed and ready to help.
Over the years I’ve become a self‑proclaimed champion of childminders — proudly standing up for the community, celebrating the work you do, and creating paperwork that genuinely supports your day‑to‑day life.
