Sustainability and Printing Policy...

Caring for our planet is woven into every part of how I create and share childminding paperwork. Whether you choose digital downloads or hard‑copy printed paperwork, I aim to make each option as environmentally responsible, low‑waste and long‑lasting as possible.

Printed Paperwork

All hard‑copy paperwork is produced through a professional UK printing partner. While they do not publicly publish details about their paper sourcing, FSC status or recycling processes, every item is printed on high‑quality, durable stock chosen to withstand daily use in busy childminding settings.

I regularly monitor for updates to their sustainability information and will share any verified details as soon as they become available.

 After Use: Recycling & Re‑Use

To help reduce waste, I encourage simple, practical recycling habits:

• Separate paper from any laminated sheets, plastic wallets or spiral bindings before recycling.
• Remove coils or wires from notebooks or planners - the paper can be recycled, and the metal can be placed in household metal recycling where accepted.
• Reuse pages where possible for notes, drafts or scrap before finally recycling.
• Shred sensitive paperwork before disposal to protect children’s data.

These small steps help ensure your paperwork has the lowest possible environmental impact.

Digital Paperwork & Eco‑Friendly Printing at Home

For digital downloads, you have full control over how sustainably you print at home.

FSC‑Certified Printer Paper

I recommend using FSC‑certified paper for home printing. FSC paper supports responsible forest management and offers a reliable, eco‑friendly option for everyday childminding paperwork.

 HP Instant Ink

Many childminders use HP Instant Ink because:

• The cartridges last a long time, reducing waste.
• You don’t run out unexpectedly, preventing emergency purchases.
• Used cartridges can be returned and recycled, supporting a circular system.
• It encourages consistent, low‑waste printing habits.

If you print regularly, HP Instant Ink can be one of the most sustainable home‑printing choices in my personal experience!

 Minimising Waste Across All Paperwork

Whether digital or printed, my goal is to help you reduce waste wherever possible:

• Print only what you need
• Use double‑sided printing where your printer allows
• Store paperwork carefully to extend its lifespan
• Reuse folders and binders instead of buying new ones
• Recycle responsibly when documents reach the end of their life

Every small action adds up — especially in busy settings where paperwork is used daily.

 My Commitment

I am committed to:

• Choosing printing partners who prioritise quality and responsible production
• Encouraging eco‑friendly habits for digital users
• Reducing waste across all paperwork formats
• Updating this page as new sustainability information becomes available

My aim is simple: to support childminders with paperwork that’s practical, durable and kinder to the planet.
